A common phrase said in the world of photography is “it’s not all about the gear” or in simpler terms, it does not matter what you have you can still make content no matter what camera or cell phone you have. I currently have a Canon Rebel T7 with a standard 18-55mm lens. I bought this camera on eBay for a fairly reasonable price of $300. No, this is not the cheapest or greatest camera someone can buy. However, as a beginner, for the price and quality that you are getting, it is a great camera especially if someone is just starting and does not know much or anything about cameras. I do plan on getting more lenses and expanding my collection. Hopefully, I will not become a hoarder of cameras but only time will tell.
One thing that I found that was helpful was just to get out and take pictures and figure out what settings work best for what I am doing and depending on your surroundings. The absolute sweet spot I have found has been a shutter speed of 1/200 with my aperture as low as I can get it. One thing that massively improved the quality of my pictures has been a CPL (color polarized lens filter). This filter helps to eliminate reflections from windows or body panels if you happen to be shooting cars. Future additions to this blog post to come.
By far one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken!
